Joyce is the attorney who worked in conjunction with Michael to draft the first Virtual Visitation Bill that became law in Utah. She has practiced law in the areas of family law, probate, and estate planning since 1982.

She was instrumental in the enactment of Utah legislation in 2003 which became the first statutory law in the United States to include virtual visitation in the provisions for parent-time for children and parents of divorce. Joyce is active in Collaborative Family Lawyers of Utah and the Utah Council on Conflict Resolution.
